A Lindon Collard contribution to Drunkycocamovision blog:
This is the Truth, I never lie: I wonder Why Batshit Crazy Rule is allowed to go on and on, on me, from childhood to old age?
I am too crippled to do much, I can hardly type. But the
BATSHIT CRAZY IN CHARGE NUMBER THREE STORY HAS TO BE POSTED. THIS WAS DURING THE FINISHING OF THE FIRST HOUSE.
THREE: I had been working alone mostly for months to finish and fix damage to the house I bought here at Otter Point. when my ex-wife came to visit the job site. It was spring of 1980.
"I don't know what is wrong with you, working alone, you could hire FIFTY MEN and finish the house in ONE DAY.''
"You are so cheap" she said.
I was still nominally in charge, did all the work, came up with all the money, I did not know what was planned for me.
I was appalled to find a home that had to be worked on before I moved in but in my situation I now realize that I would not have afforded anything better. I thought that owing money was dangerous and most of my friends who owed a lot on their property could not afford the up to 23% interest rates of the 1980's.
Instead of working and paying a big mortgage I had to work on the house I was barely able to finance and had the inventory in stock to sell and pay off the $30,000. If I had a larger mortgage I would not have been able to pay it. Selling my inventory AND NOT HAVING A MORTGAGE was crucial and I would have comfortably supported the family.
CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO BORROW THE MONEY AND HIRE THE FIFTY MEN AND THEM ALL INSIDE A 1700 SQ FT HOME WORKING. DO NOT FORGET THERE ALREADY IS A MORTGAGE SO A SECOND MORTGAGE WOULD BE REQUIRED. HIGH INTEREST LOANS.
DENIED, BETTY WAS REALLY ANGRY, PROBABLY WANTED TO GET ON WITH DIVORCE AND THEN SELLING MY HOUSE AND AS SHE SAID " ...LOSE ALL OF YOUR ASSETS TO LAWYER'S FEES."
ONE: In the latest Post on CAPRICIOUS JUSTICE@blogspot I refer to an Automobile Accident which ended my seven years with the CNR in 1970.
I did not realize at first that I was going to be Virtually Paralyzed for a long time. I am still experiencing that and other Collapse and Immobility today.
I can always move somehow but the damage done will leave me breathless and prostrate if I move too much while Virtually Paralyzed. Yesterday, I was reclining and had become comfortable but I knew if I moved I would soon be Collapsed or in Spasm and desperate to pull out compressed joints and to realign my spine. I really badly wanted food and coffee which I would have to make for myself. I could barely stand leaning against the counter.
I had a pedestal from Church furniture and I was sold a round Cherry Wood table top which was delivered. I put the two together and there was the Round Table.
From time to time Bridge would be played and I always did some kind of Musical Projects but the main activity at the Round Table was Discussion.
I tried to always have mint tea and Hashish was brought by guests and I tried to have Hashish too and Political and Scientific and Economic and Cultural matters were discussed much like the discourse we experienced at University.
I was able to socialize without leaving the farm. I really was always there in a chair with arms and my feet and legs up above my low back. Occasionally I could actually run around for forty or fifty minutes. I could walk a mile too, once in a while.
THE ROUND TABLE WAS OVER WHEN I MOVED TO OTTER POINT. THERE WAS NO ONE TO COME TO IT.
THEN THE HOUSE WAS BURNED AND THE ROUND TABLE TOO. I BOUGHT A NEW round table AND IT WAS NOT THE VISITED ROUND TABLE IT WAS JUST a table.
When my ex-wife and the movers took EVERYTHING I had together after the fire and total loss, years later, my ex-wife exulted. "WE HAVE TAKEN THE round table, just a table no discourse, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET ANOTHER ROUND TABLE TOGETHER AGAIN".
HEY IS THAT BATSHIT CRAZY OR WHAT? WHOOPEE!
BATSHIT CRAZY IN CHARGE SHORT STORY#2
THE EX-WIFE REALLY BELIEVED THAT AS SHE SAW IT I HAD A PROBLEM, I WAS "CHEAP" ALWAYS SAVING AND CALCULATING EVERYTHING IN ADVANCE, SCHEMING.
With everything spent, my ex-wife turned to me and said ``I just don`t understand, we have the house and we have cars, why don`t we have money.``
Read the boring details or just think, finally a project not done `cheap`. Trixie was sure she had the answer.
